Founded in October 2006, the Institute aims at conducting analytical, scientific and predictive research related to the legal regulation and legal norm application in the activities of judicial and law-enforcement agencies of Ukraine.

The directions of Institute activity are as follows:
1. to project and study the normative and legal acts of Ukraine;
2. to elaborate the application methodology of the legislation novelties;
3. to submit proposals (within the competence of the Institute) for the improvement of law application activity to the state power agencies of Ukraine;
4. to examine the projects of normative and legal acts;
5. to generalise practical activities of judicial and law-enforcement agencies;
6. to coordinate practical and scientific law research at Ostroh Academy National University;
7. to publish and spread the results of scientific research.
